Children are admitted from 2½ years (and do not need to be out of nappies), however  we are only able  to take
a maximum of four under 3 year olds per session. The maximum number of children for which the pre-school
is registered is 20.

Places at pre-school are allocated according to the following criteria:

  1. 2½ year olds will be offered a maximum of 2 days per week.

  2. 3 year olds will initially be offered a maximum of 3 days per week, although subject to availability this may
    be increased.

  3. Where there is a shortage of places on a particular day allocation will be made according to a child’s
    position on the waiting list.

"Our sessions are term-time, Monday to Friday (9am-12pm), Wednesday optional extended all day
session till 3pm, lunchtime sessions on Mondays (Our World) and Thursdays (Music & Movement)
12-1pm. All sessions open to all age groups.

Government funding – 15 hours and 30 hours of Universal and Extended free entitlement childcare

All children are eligible for the Universal 15hrs of free childcare from West Sussex County Council
from the term after their third birthday. We will contact you before your child’s third birthday to provide
you with the relevant paperwork. Some two year olds will also qualify for free childcare, please go
to to check if you are eligible.

From September 2017, families who meet the Government criteria, will be able to claim up to 30 hours
Extended Free Entitlement Funding. Jack & Jill Pre-School are registered to provide the extended
entitlement and you are welcome to share your 30hrs funding between a number of settings.
If your child attends more than one setting, you will be required to complete a Free Entitlement Parent
Declaration for each Pre School/Nursery.

Please note, that as from September 2017, lunch clubs can be funded by free entitlement funding.
Numbers for lunchtime sessions are limited so please let us know if you wish to book your child in as
soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

A fee of £13.50 per 3hr session will be invoiced at the beginning of each half term. Our Pre School is a non-profit registered charity and we require prompt payment to keep running effectively. If you have problems paying any invoices, please contact us immediately so we can discuss your situation, in the strictest confidence.

We support a variety of childcare voucher schemes, which can be tax efficient for working parents and used by many employers, such as Kiddivouchers. We are also registered for the tax-free childcare scheme and 30 hours of free childcare. Please contact the treasurer at for further details.
