WHAT TO BRING

At each session, your child should have a named bag containing a change of clothes, nappies, nappy bags etc., if required. During hot weather, for outdoor play, please apply sun cream before pre-school and provide your child with a hat to wear. We have water and milk available for all children throughout the session. There is no need to provide a drink for your child (unless it’s a special requirement).  Please note we are unable to dispose of soiled nappies at Pre School, so please expect them to be sent home!

PRE-START VISIT

If you would like to attend a session prior to your child starting, to see how the pre-school sessions are structured and what activities your child will be participating in, please let us know and we will arrange a suitable time for you to visit.

SETTLING YOUR CHILD

We are aware that each child is different and some settle more easily than others.  You are welcome to stay with your child during their first few sessions. Please discuss any concerns with a member of the team to create a strategy that will work for your child.

KEY PERSON

Your child will be allocated a key person.  This helps us provide for your child’s individual needs. If you wish to discuss any aspect of your child's requirements at pre-school your Key person is there to help. The name of your child’s key person can be found on the notice board at the hall.

COLLECTING YOUR CHILD

If any other person is collecting your child, please ensure that a member of staff is informed (preferably in writing) when you drop off your child in the morning. Please arrive promptly to collect your child at the end of a session as the staff have limited time to clear up and vacate the hall for other users.

ILLNESS, ABSENCES & MEDICATION

If your child is suffering from sickness/diarrhoea, they must not attend pre-school until they have been without symptoms for at least 48 hours.

If your child contracts an infectious disease (e.g. measles, chickenpox, German measles) they will have to be kept at home for the specified period of time and we should be informed immediately.

Please read the notice board for information on insurance details and infectious diseases.

We need to receive written permission from parents/carers in order to administer medication whilst your child is at pre-school. We will also keep written records of any medication given to children.

WITHDRAWING YOUR CHILD

If you wish to permanently withdraw your child from the pre-school we ask that you notify us in writing at least 6 weeks prior to your child’s last day.

POLICIES & PROCEDURES

When your child starts at the pre-school, we ask that you familiarise yourself with the policy file which is kept on site, at the Delmar Morgan Centre. Please speak to any of the team should you have any questions. Our policies are also available on this website on the local offer and policies page.

SNACK TIME & SUPPLIES

Jack & Jill Pre School is a charity and a ‘not for profit’ group.  We always welcome donations of fresh fruit and healthy snacks for the children during the morning.  We also always need kitchen roll and tissues, especially during the cold season.

COMPLAINTS

If you have a complaint please do speak to the Manager or session Supervisor at our pre-school. We have a complaints book that will be filled in. If you feel that your complaint hasn’t been dealt with satisfactorily then please do read our Complaints Policy on our website for the next steps.

COMMITTEE
